Senior Claims Adjuster – Heavy Industry and Engineering

We are proud to partner with a Lloyd’s Syndicate and leading global insurer to bring this opportunity for a Senior Claims Adjuster to the market.

Reporting to the Direct and Facultative Property Claims Manager, the successful candidate will proactively adjust complex Heavy Industry and Engineering claims from initial notification through to settlement, as well as acting as a subject matter expert for the portfolio, and collaborating with the Underwriting team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the claims within the Engineering & Heavy Industries portfolio, focusing equally on both classes.
  • Proactively adjusting Heavy Industry and Engineering claims within their claim’s authority.
  • Nurturing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, especially with Underwriters and Actuaries.
  • Ensuring that delegated claims are managed in accordance with claims values, with effective oversight of TPAs/service providers.
  • Instructing and proactively working with Panel Lawyers, Adjusters and experts to ensure the best outcomes whilst controlling costs and reducing claims leakage.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for the portfolio and providing technical advice and support to more junior members of the team.

Key Requirements

  • Extensive working knowledge of handling complex claims in the Engineering and/or Heavy Industry classes in the London Market (or equivalent setting).
  • Claims technical expertise, including policy coverage and liability assessment, claims negotiation skills, and claims strategy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
